Utah Rugby is a statewide community focused on the club (18+) age group, united by a shared passion for one of the world’s most dynamic team sports. From the youngest novice picking up the ball for the first time to high-school competitors, collegiate teams, referees, coaches, and supporters across the Beehive State, our organization exists to grow the game and empower athletes through rugby’s enduring values of Integrity; Passion; Solidarity; Discipline & Respect
Our Mission
Our mission is to expand the reach of rugby throughout Utah, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where participation in the sport enhances the lives of athletes, families, and communities alike. We believe rugby offers more than competition, it builds character, creates lifelong friendships, and strengthens communities through shared commitment and collective effort.
Who We Are
As the official governing body for adult rugby in Utah, Utah Rugby operates under the sanction of USA Rugby. Rugby in Utah started back many decades ago, we’ve had our ups and downs in success of clubs and teams in Utah, from the Youth ages to the Pro’s. The Adult Club scene has always been there to give a solid grounding for the sport. Utah Rugby is positioned to put some structures and organization in place to allow the adult form or the game to grow and expand. Meaning that the beautiful game that is played at the youth, college, even the pro level, is still able to be played, same field, same rules, same passion and physicality as always in the adult club environment.
Through organized competitions and partnerships in both 7s and 15s formats, we provide structured seasons, league governance, safety protocols, and development pathways that help young & adult athletes grow — on and off the pitch.

Whether through coaching education, referee development programs, club support, or outreach initiatives, our volunteers and staff are central to providing opportunities for players at all levels.

As part of our broader ecosystem, pathways exist for athletes to move from youth leagues to high school and collegiate competition — and beyond. These opportunities help fuel athletic development and open doors for players who aspire to reach higher levels of rugby participation and leadership.
